Year 3, plus 2

I won’t blame it on the weather, it was the training. I made thirty people more look good than the year before, but it was great fun. Afterwards.
plus one year minus one minute

One year after my first running event, I completed the 10 km of the Nike Hilversum City Run in one (1) minute less than the year before. Much happier though and less exhausted and … I left 1% more runners behind me.

At least that’s what the genographic folks at NGC and IBM are hammering home. Alas, the running skills do not come included. A colleague jokingly referred to me as mister Gebrselassie, as I clearly have a long way to go. Maybe there is wisdom in providing yourself with attainable successes, but I did feel out of place when I showed up at the start of the Bergrace By Night, a nightly run up the Grebbeberg. Most of the runners were way younger than 15 and the only contemporaries were parents accompanying their kids. Nevertheless, I did move up a notch. From place 915 to 172. There is hope. And, what’s more, I have the girls running. All four of them.
